BlackOut was conceived based on user feedback received while developing and maintaining Detox, another app aimed at aiding users with staying focused. The idea for BlackOut arose from users' desire to set specific timeframes during which they would be unable to use their smartphone. The app's concept is straightforward: set a start time, finish time, and days of the week when phone usage should be restricted. Once activated, BlackOut will deter you from using your phone until the designated time period concludes—a routine that repeats daily (or on selected days) until you deactivate it, akin to an alarm clock.
How To Use
- Open the app and ensure you grant the necessary overlay permission.
- Tap the floating plus icon.
- Select a start time.
- Select a finish time.
- Choose the day(s) of the week for app operation (including every day).
- Activate by toggling the switch in the list.
- Remember to deactivate if you wish to discontinue the restrictions.
